All photography examples of factory built housing
Whether single-family or multi-use, W&R has created wonderful solutions for differing community’s needs.
Our Mission
With rising construction costs, a labor shortage in our building trades and escalating regulatory requirements, homes in California are experiencing an affordability crisis. We leverage the latest in digital technology and manufacturing automation to increase quality, reduce waste, and reduce the cost of site-built construction. If a Boeing 747 or a Tesla electric car can be more efficiently built in a factory, it is time for the construction industry to evolve to meet the needs of all people. Our multifamily and mixed use buildings anchor the project and are inclusive to multiple age groups and affordability levels.
Building sustainability is much more than a catch phrase for W&R. Beyond the expected energy and resource efficient designs, W&R buildings focus on indoor environmental quality, and unlike standard construction methods our off-site modular construction has several additional benefits.
Reduced construction site pollution (air, noise)
Improved worker safety
Dramatically reduced construction waste
Up to 97% recycled/reused materials
Reduced trip generation and construction
Equipment GhG output.
Guiding Principals
Bring People Together
One of the hallmarks of any great civic space and community is that it acts as a magnet. Through great architecture, inviting and safe open spaces, a variety of revolving activities and a vibrant neighborhood community one can create a cultural hub that attracts people in all stages of their life, and from diverse communities. We all share common ground. These are often found in the simple things that enrich our lives. Great food, grown or made by neighbors; great music and cultural celebrations that give us a glimpse of other’s history and our own; and creative expression.
Evolving Space
As a home, a destination and gathering space for the community; it needs to be able to easily adapt to an evolving community fabric. Design open spaces, residential and commercial programming to allow flexibility and multiple uses wherever possible.
Project design emphasizes celebrating the art of everyday life within the social landscape. That is to say that art, music, performance, food and social engagement are intermixed with business and living spaces, rather than segregated and apart from them.
